Recipe | Protein Waffle + Pancakes

Can we get a hallelujah for PROTEIN WAFFLES!?

Protein is key when it comes to keeping you fuller longer, helping to prevent your blood sugar from spiking and helping recover your muscles if you’re doing any type of strength training.

This is especially important at breakfast!

Our very own Trainer and Health Coach Meagan Bertoni is sharing her favorite protein waffle/pancake recipe today! This recipe is very simple and full of protein and healthy fats.

PROTEIN WAFFLE/PANCAKE RECIPE

INGREDIENTS

1/2 cup pumpkin puree (or a small banana, smashed)
2 eggs
1 tsp chia seeds
1 tsp hemp seeds (optional)
1 scoop protein powder (I love the Garden of Life Natural or Vanilla flavor)
Dash of cinnamon

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Mix the pumpkin puree and 2 eggs.
2. Add the chia seeds and hemp seeds and let sit for 3-5 minutes to allow the chia seeds to start to gelatinize.
3. Add the cinnamon and protein powder.
4. If the mixture appears to be too thick, add a splash of milk.
5. Add mixture to your waffle maker and cook thoroughly.
6. Top with nut butter, maple syrup, or eat by itself. And enjoy!
You can also use this recipe to make protein pancakes. This will make one large waffle or 3-4 pancakes.
